The spirit of the cuvée
L'Originel is the signature wine of Domaine La Doussinière. Made from old Merlot and Cabernet Franc vines planted in 1955, it favours a direct, precise expression of fruit. The 2024 vintage stands out for its freshness, suppleness and vibrancy: a fresh, elegant and immediately expressive style. Ageing without oak preserves the wine's personality and the purity of its fruit.
Winemaking and ageing
Winemaking in stainless steel tanks, with around three weeks of maceration. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages in concrete tanks until bottling, without oak. This approach aims to preserve freshness, fine tannins and the natural expression of fruit.
Tasting
Appearance
Bright ruby colour with violet highlights, reflecting the youth and freshness of the vintage.
Nose
A fresh, precise nose of crisp red fruit. Raspberry and redcurrant emerge in a delicate, very pure expression of fruit.
Palate
Fresh and supple on entry, with a flowing, balanced texture. Fine tannins keep the fruit in the foreground, offering generosity without heaviness. The clean, fresh finish extends the wine's elegance and harmony.
Food pairings
Roast poultry, white meats, fine charcuterie, grilled meats, delicate slow-cooked dishes, lightly spiced food and soft cheeses.
Ageing potential
Enjoy now for its fruit and freshness, with an ageing potential of 3 to 5 years.
Serving
Serve slightly cool, between 15 and 17°C. Brief aeration may be beneficial.
