    Our selection

    Available wines

A focused range, created for fine dining and shared moments. Each cuvée expresses the purity of fruit and the finesse of Montcaret's clay-limestone terroir.

L'Originel, my first wine, takes its name from the return to my roots that inspired the estate: reconnecting with my family's farming history and building my own venture in the vineyard. It embodies our search for fruit, freshness and balance. A red wine with character, blending Merlot and Cabernet Franc, aged in concrete tanks without oak to preserve purity of fruit.

    The spirit of the cuvée

L'Originel is the signature wine of Domaine La Doussinière. Made from old Merlot and Cabernet Franc vines planted in 1955, it favours a direct, precise expression of fruit. The 2024 vintage stands out for its freshness, suppleness and vibrancy: a fresh, elegant and immediately expressive style. Ageing without oak preserves the wine's personality and the purity of its fruit.

    The vintage's story

A quintessential warm vintage, 2022 will be remembered for its generous sunshine. Harvest began a week earlier than average, with remarkably concentrated grapes. This vintage shows how our old vines draw from deep in the soil to maintain balance despite summer drought. The result is a generous, fleshy wine that retains our terroir's signature freshness. Its quality was recognised with a Gold Medal from Anivin de France, the trade association for Vin de France.

    Tasting notes

The nose is open and expressive, immediately revealing fully ripe red and black fruits: black cherry, plum and blackcurrant, accompanied by cocoa, light tobacco and a delicate floral touch of violet. Broad and velvety on entry, the palate reveals an almost fleshy texture. Silky, rounded tannins melt on the tongue. The warmth of the vintage brings great aromatic depth and a long, spicy finish with notes of black pepper and sweet liquorice. A generous, sun-filled wine that is never heavy.

    Food pairings

Dry-aged rib of beef, wood-grilled rib-eye, honey-glazed duck breast, traditional duck confit, feathered game (pheasant or roast guinea fowl), venison fillet with grand veneur sauce, 36-month Comté and farmhouse Ossau-Iraty. Particularly fine with Toulouse cassoulet or seven-hour slow-cooked lamb shoulder.

    Ageing potential

Already very enjoyable in its youth thanks to its generous fruit. Excellent now, it will gain complexity over the next 5 to 8 years. Tertiary notes of leather, tobacco and truffle will develop gradually. Peak drinking window: 2025–2032.

🌿 Vintage from the third year of conversion to organic farming

    The vintage's story

The estate's first vintage under my direction. A pivotal year marking a new chapter for these vines planted in 1955. A late spring followed by a generous summer allowed the grapes to reach optimal ripeness in 2021. This inaugural vintage carries all the promise of this exceptional terroir.

    Tasting notes

The nose bursts with ripe black fruit—blackcurrant, wild blackberry and blueberry—alongside subtle graphite and sweet spice. Structured without heaviness, the palate reveals a silky texture shaped by patient ageing in concrete tanks. Fine, mellow tannins are seamlessly integrated, leading to a persistent finish of black fruit with a touch of liquorice. The balance between power and elegance defines this vintage, faithfully reflecting our old vines and clay-limestone terroir.

    Food pairings

Grilled red meats (rib-eye or rib of beef à la bordelaise), duck breast with figs, goose confit, herb-roasted lamb and mature cheeses (24-month Comté, aged Cantal and Ossau-Iraty). Also excellent with Provençal beef stew or wild boar stew.

    Ageing potential

Enjoy now for its fresh fruit, or cellar for 3 to 5 years to develop more complex woodland and leather notes. Peak drinking window: 2024–2027.

    Serving

    16–18°C - Decant 1 hour before tasting
